We are all very excited about the launch of our PatternsPatch blog. We aim to provide you with information, support, friendship and lots of fun into the bargain. Nowadays, we are living busier lives, and this makes it all the more important for each of us to find some ‘me-time’ so that we can find a sanctuary where we can turn off the pressures of life. For me, cross stitch fulfils that function.
I am never more content than when I am stitching. The great thing too, is that you only need some basic advice in order to get started, and to create great projects. With this in mind, we at Patterns Patch invite you to join us. Beginner or seasoned professional, there is a lot for you all to enjoy and many friends to make.
What does cross stitch mean to you? For me, it has given confidence, at a time when I felt low, it has kept me feeling positive through times of sadness, helped me celebrate important occasions and kept me active and busy when I have felt bored or frustrated. All this, and there are the wonderful finished projects to enjoy too.
Please write to us and share with us all the effects cross stitch has had on your life. Is it just an occasional pastime, or are you addicted to cross stitching? Do let us know. You can share your stitching stories with us on the forum page.
I often think that one of the best things about the Internet is the way that we can become instant neighbors and friends with people from all over the world. Despite our different cultures and customs, there are certain things that are common to us all – and cross stitch is one of those wonderful crafts that bring us together as worldwide friends, with its challenges and many rewards. On the subject of a virtual world tour, I am writing this from the United Kingdom, and as August draws to a close, I am reminded of the cooler days as Autumn/Fall takes hold. What better time of year to consider spending cosy evenings cross stitching, and planning some Christmas projects!
I also think of our friends the other side of the world who are gearing up for hotter weather. For them, the prospect of long warm days and leisure time for stitching again makes me smile. Whatever the weather, there is always a good excuse to take time to cross stitch!
